In plain English
Many crypto wallets back up with a standard list of words called a BIP39 seed phrase. Monero uses its own format, so people who saved a BIP39 phrase can get stuck. This tool works through the conversion offline to recover access.
How it works
- Enter the BIP39 seed phrase on an offline machine.
- Derive the keys step by step (key derivation: the recipe that turns words into keys).
- Convert the result into Monero's own key format.
- Let the owner check each step, with nothing logged or sent anywhere.
What I did
I built it solo as a personal tool.
What I learned
Recovery tools have to be boringly careful: offline by default, nothing logged, and every step checkable by the person who owns the keys.
